As part of School Safety Week, we’re sharing an important reminder from the Texas School Safety Center:
Think before you post. Threats to school safety—even when intended as a joke—are a crime and can have serious, life-changing consequences.
Students who make threats could face school discipline, including expulsion, and criminal consequences that may include up to 2 years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000.
Parents, please talk with your students about the serious consequences of making or sharing threats online.
Don’t risk your future over a post. THREATS ARE NO JOKE!

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause to remember the lives lost and honor the first responders whose courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. We remember them today and always. 🇺🇸
Ennis ISD was proud to recognize longtime Board of Trustees member and former President Bramlet Beard during last Friday night’s football game.
Mr. Beard has dedicated more than 18 years of service to Ennis ISD, helping guide and support our district, students, staff, and community. In recognition of his many years of dedicated service, he was presented with a commemorative plaque and given the honor of conducting the coin toss before the game.
We sincerely thank Mr. Beard for his leadership, commitment, and many years of service to Ennis ISD. We greatly appreciate his dedication to our schools and community!

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸
Today, we celebrate the generations of American workers whose hard work, dedication, and contributions have helped build and strengthen our nation.
Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894 and is observed each year on the first Monday in September as a tribute to the social and economic achievements of American workers.
Reminder: Monday, September 7, is a district holiday, and there will be no school. Regular office and class schedules will resume Tuesday, September 8.

Pictured is The Bashaba, believed to be the very first yearbook published by Ennis High School. In fact, the bottom of the “What’s In A Name?” page identifies it simply as “Volume One.”
But what exactly is a Bashaba?
The students who created that first yearbook explained the unusual name themselves. Bashaba was an old term for a great Native American chief or leader. The editors chose the name because they wanted their new publication to represent leadership, ambition, achievement, strength, and goodwill among the students of Ennis High School.
They wrote that The Bashaba, “like the old Indian chief,” would seek to justify its name by presenting the best work of its students and encouraging them to “rejoice and grow strong by grace of its good will.”
More than 110 years later, this first volume provides a fascinating glimpse into the students who began the tradition of documenting the people, activities, and memories of Ennis High School.

As we prepare to welcome our students back tomorrow, please remember that traffic around our campuses—especially in drop-off and pick-up lanes—will be heavier than normal during the first week or so.
Bus arrival and drop-off times may also vary slightly as our drivers and students become familiar with new routes and schedules.
The safety and security of our students will always be our top priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding as everyone settles into the new school year routine.

Students are no longer limited to logo apparel and now have more options when choosing tops, bottoms, and outerwear.
While students have greater freedom in what they wear, our expectations remain the same. Clothing must be appropriate for school and may not include lewd, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate images or messages.
